Mango chicken..Yes it’s a bit out of routine chicken recipes like Butter chicken, Pepper chicken etc.. Summer in India is known for its high temperature and number of varied seasonal fruits out of which Mango-the King of fruits is the one which comes to every one’s mind.mango is known for its sweet and sour taste as well. So thought will try it with chicken turned out to be delicious with its unique taste of little sourness .U will like it..:-) Aam murghi kadai.
Ingredients:-
Chicken – 250gms (boneless, cut into 1 inch pieces)
Sour mangos -2nos
Oil -100gms
Onions -2
Green chillies -4
Ginger garlic paste -2tsps
Chilly powder -1tsp
Turmeric -1/2tsp
Salt – as per taste
Spice powder:-
Poppy seeds (Khus-khus) -1tsp
Jeera -1tsp
Coriander seeds-1tsp
Cinnamon stick -1/2inch
Cloves-2
Method:-
Add little turmeric and ginger garlic paste to the chicken, mix it well and keep aside.
Peel and grate the mangoes.
Grind all the spices to powder (poppy seeds, jeera, coriander seeds, cinnamon stick and clove)
Heat oil in a pan/kaddai, add ginger garlic paste stir fry till the raw smell leaves.
To this add chicken pieces and fry till light brown in colour.
Add the grated mango, chopped onions, green chillies, grinded spices powder, little turmeric, salt and stir fry for 2 mins.
Add some water to the above chicken mix, let it cook on low heat for 15-20 mins or till chicken is tender.
Serve hot.
